Parallel gateway
Used to combine and create parallel flows to model situations where more than one path is executed in parallel.
A parallel gateway can act as a fork, a join, or both:
Fork: All outgoing sequence flows are followed simultaneously, creating one parallel execution for each.
Join: Execution waits until all incoming sequence flows have completed before the process continues.
If the same gateway has multiple incoming and multiple outgoing sequence flows, it first joins all incoming executions, then forks into parallel paths.
Conditions on sequence flows connected to a parallel gateway are ignored. All outgoing flows are always followed.

Advanced properties
Whether the activity starts as an asynchronous job, placing a transaction boundary before the activity:
No (default): Synchronous.
Yes, exclusive: Asynchronous and with no other exclusive asynchronous jobs in the same process run at the same time.
Yes, non-exclusive: Asynchronous and can run concurrently with other asynchronous jobs in the same process.
Leave asynchronously
Whether the activity leaves as an asynchronous job after it completes, placing a transaction boundary before the process advances to the next element:
No (default): Synchronous.
Yes, exclusive: Asynchronous and with no other exclusive asynchronous jobs in the same process run at the same time.
Yes, non-exclusive: Asynchronous and can run concurrently with other asynchronous jobs in the same process.
