# User information available via API
For privacy reasons, the following information about Collibra user profiles is available via our API based on the role the viewer:
* Administrator: You have a [global role](https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/collibra/latest/Default.htm#cshid=DOC0635) with the **User Administration** or **System administration** [global permission](https://productresources.collibra.com/docs/collibra/latest/Default.htm#cshid=DOC0630), for example **Sysadmin**.
* Same user: You request information about your own profile via the API.
* Other users: You request information about other user profiles via the API.
